KofC # 287 Hosted the 2023 St. Patrick's Day Dinner at Memorial Hall in Concord, MA.

​

In addition to amazing corned-beef and all the sides, there were games provided by the Religious Ed. team; deserts and Irish soda bread provided by the Women's Club, and Irish Dancers.

KofC # 287 Christmas party was held on 21 December 2021.

​

Meal included Appetizers, Smoked Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, etc. and too many Deserts to count.

​

Christmas Party

KofC # 287 travelled to Leominster, MA to help the MA DAV with a much-needed fall clean-up around its newly acquired Hero House location.  This location is to be occupied soon.

​

The entire exterior of the property was cleaned of leaves, branches, and debris.

MA Disabled American Veterans
Hero House Fall Clean-Up

It’s more than a “Tootsie Roll Drive.” It’s a chance to provide people with intellectual and physical disabilities more resources to live a happy life.

​

All donations go to the MA KofC Charity Fund.  These monies then are provided as grants that assist persons with intellectual disabilities, regardless of age, and children with physical handicaps who have not yet reached their 20th birthday.

​

Council #287 Knights and their helpers collected donations on 8 & 9 October at the West Concord Shopping Plaza as well as at the Sudbury Rd. Crosby's / Rocky's ACE / CVS in Concord Center; 15 October at Donelan's Supermarket, Acton; 16 & 30 October after Holy Family masses in Concord.

All Clothing and Food Items Collected will be donated to Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence, MA

​

Any monies collected will be used to support the Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids Program.

​

Donations of Clothing, Food, or Cash/checks may be dropped of Sunday, 11 September, 7:30 - 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish 

​

There will also be a drop-off in the Holy Family Parking lot Saturday, 17 September,  10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

(Fred-Fest 2022)

 

Pilgrimage to the Maronite Monks of Adoration in Petersham, MA

​

Included a discussion of the Monastery's and the Maronite's U.S. history with the Monastery's Prior and Abbot; a tour of the grounds; and attended a prayer service with the priests and brothers.  Ample time was provided for reflection and prayer.

Pilgrimage

 

The Concord Council #287 brought back a long-time tradition of having a gathering following the parade and ceremonies in West Concord for participants (particularly the veterans) as well as the local community. 

​

This was great exposure for the KofC and extremely well received and appreciated by all.

Gifts and donations were collected to support Crisis Pregnancy Support Centers across the Arch Diocese of Boston.

​

Gifts included fifteen bags of Diapers, Baby Clothes, Maternity Wear for moms, and Over $2,000 in donations.

​

17 October before / after all Holy Family masses in Concord.

Originally Instituted 1 December 1897, Concord Council was formally Re-Instituted 21 March, 2021, after a twenty year absence.

​

These are the officers chosen to lead the Concord Council. 

​

Also taking part in the Ceremony were the KofC Massachusetts State Deputy Mike Michael Lesperance;  State Assistant Executive Secretary/ Education Dir. Pat Curley; and District Deputy (23) Mike Bello. 

​

MA Disabled American Veterans
Hero House Clean-Up

KofC # 287 was active on It's first weekend as a re-instituted Council. It helped to support Lazarus House Industries in Lawrence, MA with a Food and Clothing Drive.

​

Concord's Knights collected over 1,600 pounds of food, enough clothing to fill 100 large bags, and 1200$ in donations for this great cause.

​

The amount of clothing collected required the rental of a box-truck for delivery to Lazarus House the following weekend.
